About This Course

They key to landing your dream role tarts with making a good first impression - from prepatation to selecting the right "cut" of music. In the bried window of time that you have to audition, it is your job as an actor to convey a range of emotions efficiently and in an authentic, purposeful manner.

Whether the material is assigned to or selcted by you, genuine adaptation to the situation and connection to the source material is the name of the game. In this hands-on 5-week intensive, learn how to craft the perfect live or video audition for musical theatre and hone your skills through "mock auditions."

This course will meet over ZOOM on Saturdays from 10:00a-11:30a. This course will run from 9/26/20 to 10/24/20.

Aurora Hunter

Ms. Hunter is a Tucson native and is currently a directing major at Colorado Christian University. She has spent several years performing with and working backstage for Arts Express, CYT Tucson, and Ballet Rincon.


Performing credits include Mae Tuck in Tuck Everlasting (Colorado Christian University), Miss Andrew in Mary Poppins (Colorado Christian University), Dragon/Queen Lillian in Shrek the Musical (Arts Express), Carbucketty in Cats (Arts Express), and Ursula in The Little Mermaid (CYT Tucson). In the Summer 2020, Aurora was the Program Coordinator for Arts Express' summer programs and Director of the animated production of Lion King Jr.

Erica Swim

Erica is a recent graduate of Colorado Christian University where she studied Communication and Musical Theatre. Her performance experience began a little over ten years ago, when she first fell in love with the stage.


After graduating, Erica has found work with various Theatre companies guest teaching in hopes to excite other students about the many joys of performing! Erica currently lives in Denver CO, where she enjoys reading, playing piano, baking, and anything creative!
