About This Course

What makes musical theatre different than a straight play? Well, the music of course! Explore how a Broadway composer communicates through a musical score, using terms and symbols to reveal their ideas on character, goals, subtext, and action.

As you decode the musical terms affecting the composer’s choices of meter, key, range, dynamics, rhythm and pitch, the expressive language of the composer is revealed. Take your musical theatre performance to the next level by learning how to act on those subtle and not-so-subtle clues!

This course will meet over ZOOM on Sundays from 1:00p-3:00p. This course will run from 9/20/20 to 10/11/20.
